Lovely Creatures, launched in 2021, is a relatively new line of wines from winemaker Stephanie Wiid at Thistle & Weed, an established winery in South Africa’s Western Cape. For Wiid, the name is “a nod to the eponymous album by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, but it is also an homage to the often-overlooked critters that make up the ecosystem of a vineyard.” Wiid’s commitment to biodiversity and affordability is at the center of these wines. Lovely Creatures currently makes three single-variety wines: chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, and the pinotage, which premiers with this vintage.
Fresh raspberries on the nose and palate with deep undertones of leather and a eucalyptus finish.

In accordance with Pennsylvania liquor law, all of our bottle sales, including the wine club, will be pick-up only from our store inside Lawrenceville Market House.
