Dos Minas is a winery in Salta, Argentina and is owned by native Lucía Romero and California-transplant Heather Willens. “Mina” is old school Argentine slang for “girl” used colloquially today to affectionately refer to women of any age. The most direct translation we can think of is “chick.” Both women have worked at a number of small wineries in Argentina and champion the popular varieties of torrentés and malbec.

This 100% Malbec is made from grapes grown on 15-year-old vines. The warm days and cool nights allow the grapes to ripen while creating natural acidity. Fermentation in stainless steel and neutral oak keep the mouthfeel full but the palate bright. Plummy, red fruit notes dominate the palate and there are hints of spice from the neutral oak. We suggest this with beef dishes and blue cheese. It can be aged for up to 6 years.
