  • In the 1950s, farmer Plinio Marchesini was saving up to buy a tractor to continue his family’s long-time work on the estate of Count Cavazzocca of Lazise. A decade later, Marchesini bought the manor and his first vineyard in Santi where they now cultivate the grapes for Marchesini, Bardolino Classico 2021 and all of the rest of their Bardolino production. When he acquired the vineyard in the 60s, he began producing un-bottled wines and selling door-to-door throughout northern Italy. In the 80s, his son Marcello picked up the mantle of the business and now his daughters, Erika and Giorgia, have started to take over his duties in the vineyard and cellar.

Sanguine and yet still floral, this red has flavors and aromas of cooked blackberries and softly bitter notes of braised radicchio. Pairs well with stews and braises.
