Marc Isart was the head winemaker at Bernabeleva and one of the founding members of Commando G Wines. He left both projects to go back to Madrid and start his own project, La Maldición, which means “The Curse.” He named it for the laborers’ struggles to reach and work the land at this secluded property in Valdelichia, Madrid. The village of Valdilecha sits at 700 meters, with Marc’s old tempranillo vines at 780m and malvar vines at 730 meters.
This Spanish red is bursting with the red fruit flavors of cherry and plum with a light whisper of vanilla with a little white pepper. Excellent with hearty fish like red snapper or grilled chicken.
