Bourgueil Abbey founded in 990 by Emma, Countess of Blois and Duchess of Aquitaine as a Benedictine abbey. Records show that vineyards have always been a central part of the abbey’s existence. In 1828, the nuns of the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Martin took over the abbey and its vineyards and stewarded them for the next 150 years. In 1975, Michel Lorieux and his partner took over the Clos de l'Abbaye vines and shepherded them into the 21st century. The vineyard has been managed using organic farming since 1997. It was certified organic in 2000.
This cab franc is packed with energy. Forest fruits and bramble are backed with a white pepper spice and earthy finish. Serve slightly chilled.

In accordance with Pennsylvania liquor law, all of our bottle sales, including the wine club, will be pick-up only from our store inside Lawrenceville Market House.
