Chamonix Estates is located in the Franschhoek valley in South Africa’s Western Cape. Its 300 hectares boast some of the highest elevation plots in the area. The history of Chamonix Estate dates back to 1688 when it was a part of the larger Huguenot Estate. In its latest era, under Chris Hellinger who has owned it for the last 30 years, the property has seen the development of a restaurant and villas for onsite accommodations.
A smooth and medium bodied cabernet franc that sees some oak influence. Notes of earthy spice, ripe plums and dark berries with a healthy tannic structure and moderate oak influence. Pair with rabbit or other game meats.
