Paşaeli is a family-owned Turkish estate founded by Seyit Karagözoğlu. Seyit, who was born and raised in İzmir, started his career in wine as an importer but switched over to growing Turkish indigenous grape varieties such as sultaniye, yapıncak, çalkarası, and karasakız in 2000.  Pasaeli, Seahorse Rosé 2021 is made from 100% çalkarası grapes (chal-kara-see). This variety is only grown in the Çal District of Denizli in the Aegean region of Turkey and is often used for making rosé because of its good acidity and strong fruit presence. This rosé only gets an hour and a half of skin contact, which is why it’s so light in color and tannic qualities.

The nose has lovely aromas of wild strawberries and raspberries. The palate is well balanced with good acidity and lush, juicy fruit. Drink alone or with some light appetizers like stuffed grape leaves or hard cheeses.
