In 1982, Francisco Alfonso planted a 7.5 hectare vineyard about 10 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. After selling wine for years locally, they named the vineyard Pedralonga, which means “big rock” in Gallego, a reference to the huge chunks of granite sticking out of the soil. It is now run by Francisco’s son Miguel. The land has always been farmed organically and in 2007, Miguel introduced biodynamic practices.
A perfect seaside wine. Full of mineral depth and salinity, rounded out with notes of peach and creamy tropical fruit. The label’s design is inspired by the pure granite soil of the albariño vineyards.
