Ransom, ‘Reds’ Red Blend Oregon 2020

Ransom Spirits was founded by Tad Seestedt in 1997 with the goal of making small amounts of grappa, eau de vie and brandy. In 1999, Ransom began the production of a number of small-batch fine wines, and In 2007, took up the craft of grain-based spirits, adding gin, whiskey and vodka. Ransom is based in the Willamette Valley - in the foothills of the Coastal Mountain Range of Oregon. They planted their first vines in 2010 and pursued organic certification, which they achieved in 2011.

Aromas of ripe plum and tart blackberry mingle with hints of spearmint and oak. The flavors mimic the aromas with additional notes of spice and cocoa. Moderate tannins and a smooth texture round out a fruity finish that lingers on savory spice.
