Steeped in history, this family can trace their wine making roots all the way back to 1567. It was in 1883 that Corvina was planted at the
Arbizzano di Negrar Valpolicella estate and the rest is quite literally, history.

The first corvina vines were planted at the  Arbizzano di Negrar estate in 1883, but the winemaking history of the property goes back to 1567. The Bertani brothers, Giovanni and Guglielmo, now operate the estate, following their father, Gaetano Bertani. They work only with indigenous varieties of the Veneto and continue to research traditional growing and winemaking techniques. Ripasso is a traditional method of making Valpolicella wines, which involves a second maceration of Valpolicella Superiore wine on the skins of grapes used for Amarone, which must be dried for at least 100 days. This second maceration usually lasts about twenty days and the resulting wine takes more color and flavor from the skins.

Very velvety in texture and restrained with notes of baked blueberry and black raspberries. Aged in oak.
