Quinta do Ferro, Vinho Verde White Blend 2019

Quinta do Ferro is a family project run by Micaela Ferro on the right bank of the Douro River, in a sub-region of Vinho Verde. The vineyards are high up in the hills, where she has been working since the late 90s. She focuses on growing native varieties like avesso, which is similar to alvarinho (albariño). Avesso is known for its highly aromatic qualities and notes of grapefruit and peach. She grows other white varieties like arinto and vinhâo, both of which are well suited to mountainous climates. 

Ripe peach, apricot and a touch of honey and white flowers on the nose. Rich fruit on the palate, with flavors of peach and dried apricot, and a refreshing slightly fizzy finish.
