Swick is a small winery located in Newberg, Oregon focused on making raw wines sourced from organically and biodynamically farmed vineyards in Oregon and Washington. They produce about 30,000 bottles annually and focus primarily on pinot noir, although they do work with colder climate varieties as well. Winemaker Joe Swick hails from Oregon, where he returned after 10 years of working in wine all over the world. Swick makes wines that he would enjoy; ones with lively acidity, with no conventional additives and only small amounts of SO2 on select wines when absolutely necessary.
This is a skin-contact blend of vineyards in Oregon and Washington, named after the Missoula Floods that shaped the Columbia Gorge and Willamette Valley 10 million years ago. Lively with nice acidity and floral overtones, this wine is refreshing and a little funky.
