From the importer:
Davide Carlone focuses his efforts on Boca, both in his wines and in his work. Boca lies in the foothills of the Alps, within the Valsesia volcanic crater, near other Alto Piemonte regions such as Ghemme and Gattinara. The soil is a blend of gravel and volcanic porphyry, lending body and intensity to the wines. The principal grape variety in Boca is Nebbiolo, historically known as Spanna in Northern Piemonte. Nebbiolo is among the most particular grape varieties when it comes to vineyard placement, always requiring a more southerly exposure. However, it is highly resistant to vine diseases, and its clusters show strong resistance to mildew.
Light, clean and crystalline. Blushy fruits, pink flowers, citrus peels, pear, and rose, along with subtle accents of yeast and honey.
