Királyudvar Winery, Tokaji Furmint Sec 2020
Királyudvar Winery, Tokaji Furmint Sec 2020
- producer: Királyudvar Winery
- region: Tokaji
- country: HUN
- grape variety: furmint
- production notes:
The Királyudvar Winery is located in the famous Tokaji region in northeastern Hungary. This region has been shaped largely by volcanic activity and its unique weather patterns. As a result, the most famous wines in Tokaji are sweet wines (sweet Tokaji) made from the furmint grape, however the dry Tokajis are also worth attention. The Királyudvar estate (King’s court) was founded in the 16th century. In 1997 an American businessman bought the estate and partnered with a local winemaker István Szepsy. The estate has six main vineyards on 200 acres and farms them all organically.
This dry tokaji brings all the elegance of its sweet cousin without the residual sugar. Complex with floral notes of orange peel and honey balanced with hints of slate and white pepper. Excellent with roast white meats.
